Journal for 2006-4-18 Tue..
Weather: Sunny Plan: Akagi JHS

I finally sent the money off to the mechanic for the new car today. It was a good price, so I think we got a nice deal. The English classes will be split into two classrooms starting today, so Ms. Suyama and I put desks and chairs in the all-purpose room. Before it only had tables. The rest of the day I spent beginning my study of Arabic letters. I'll do my best!

  • Good luck with the arabic! It's my next language after I get Cantonese to a conversational level =D
    • So, I told one of my (ultra-conservative) JTEs that I was studying Arabic and she was aghast. She thought it was a horrible idea to study it. "いらない" was one comment. I was a little irked about her short-sightedness, but I have tried to open her mind on other occasions to no avail. What can you do?
  • hey, did you hear about Onodera Ayumi getting married to her osananajimi?
  • Whoa, you totally need to keep us updated on your Arabic process. The only stuff I ever learned isn't very useful in day to day situations. Unless I want to start a fight that is. And I never learned how to read it. Is it hard? Probably not after you've done so well in Japanese.

Also, come on man! Lets see some pics of the new wheels! Does Signe already have a turbo the size of my head on order for it? hehe If the weather is nice I'm going to Monterey this weekend...which means new pics.
    • I am starting out with the alphabet, in that respect it is no harder than when I started learning Japanese, also the three (actually four) forms for each letter seem a bit daunting, but all will be revealed with practice.

Once I can read and write the script, I wil start looking into grammer, etc. At least there isn't an equivalent to kanji in Arabic.

As for the car, the next day we have good weather I will take a much of pictures for you. :)
