Weather: Cloudy Plan: Akagi JHS

The days have been going by fast these days. The first semester midterm tests are this week. Ms. Mishima and I recorded the listening section of the test for the 8th graders. It is easy to make CDs using the computer. I used the same software I use to record this podcast for recording, then I used a CD-making software we have at the Junior High School to put it on CD. It was pretty fun.

  • Speaking of software, I gave a lecture on the Test-Driven Development methodology today at work. I probably would have been a bit better with it if the two people with the CRAZIEST FUCKING EXPRESSIONS("I can so screw with your class at this point", and "I cannot believe I have to take this class") had not been staring at me the whole way through. Gah!
    • WAU! When did you start giving lectures, Prof. Francis?!?
      • It's a long story involving my company's obsession with "training hours", and my researching software development when I'm bored(leading to me spewing out a random topic when I got asked for a subject to give a talk on).

It went a bit better today though, there was a higher percentage of developers I knew, and a manager who was eager to show off his knowledge of the subject.

It is still really hard to lecture to software people, though. Now I know how our undergrad profs felt, half of my audience was dozing off like I used to.
