Weather: Cloudy   Plan: Sakugi JHS

The 3rd term began today! Our volunteer trip to Vietnam over winter break was very interesting. As you could imagine, there are a lot of people living in poverty in Vietnam. We went to various ethnic minority villages and distributed food and clothes. There are 53 different ethnicities in Vietnam, and the plight of the minority groups are very bad. I learned that the government ingores all but the majority ethnic group (the Vietnamese). So they were extremely happy to receive our help, as little as it was. I definitely want to go on more volunteer trips in the future.

  • Whoah, who knew you were still alive?

Was this this Vietnam trip organized by wassername (the one who did the dance at the art-show opening)?
    • Yep, that's her. Nina Mai.

I have been out of it lately. Just been doing the work thing and nothing else. It is about time I start posting and writing trev reports again.

How cool though. It was literally just this very morning as I was driving home from work that I went "You know what, I haven't heard from Trevor in forever. I wonder if he's doing alright. Once I get a nap in, I should try to get in touch with him."

    And here you are!

    • I felt your need across the ocean and answered the call. :)

I just finished "American Gods." Awesome book.
  • Your (late) holiday card is in the mail and your (very late) holiday present just arrived here, so it'll be going out to you tomorrow.

    Yay for more Trev lessons!
    • Woohoo! You shouldn't have.

How's the family holding up? Is everyone well over on your side of the Pacific? Any game dev. news in your future?
      • Family's doing OK, but we're freezing in this-here cold spell that's affecting the Pacific NW again. During the power outages, my parents had to come to my apartment to take showers, and they even managed to get the decorative fireplace to work.

On the game dev front, Kuroko Project will hopefully get some more content in the next week or two, even if it's just a lousy Breakout clone. Too much time got wasted farting around with various environments that didn't offer much beyond a headache. :/
        • OMGWTFBBQ! This is an awesome present. You totally rockzor! I totally remember watching demos like these back in JHS and high school. You really made my day.
