2004-12-1 Wed. Weather: Sunny Plan: Akagi JHS

Today was a normal day at the Junior High School. The 9th grade classes were really boring because all we were doing was correcting the end-of-the-semester tests. I had nothing to do. Oh well, what can you do! The 8th graders had a fun speaking class, though.
The big news today was that for Winter Break Signe and I will be spending 2 weeks in the small island country of Palau! Cool, huh!
I was going to use my paid vacation days for the trip, but when I got to the board of education to fill out the paperwork, Mr. Osaka, my supervisor, said, "Why are you using your vacation days? Don't you still have some compensatory time left over that you can use?" Since I never use my compensatory time (this is time I get off for working overtime and going to special events on my days off), it turns out that I have accrued since May over 90 hours of compensatory time!!! That means I can vacation in Palau using only compensatory time! I don't have to use any vacation days! Rock rock on!

  • Livejournal posts are starting to look better with the spacing and such.

Can you believe we are leaving for Palau in 3 weeks!? How did that happen? :P

    Love you.
    • Go us! I am really looking forward to seeing the old WWII relics, and the always nice weather. :)
  • Wow! That looks really fun! You guys going to go scuba? You have to scuba! Or at the very least snorkel. So 90 hours is around 10 days then? You better take lots of pictures!
    • We are totally snorkelling at least, if not more. It sounds like it will be awesome. You should hurry up and graduate and get on the JET Program! join~~us~~! At 8 hours a day 90 hours is a little over 11 days! W00t!
      • One more semester and I'll have me AA in transfer studies. Did't realize I could get a degree in transferring, but there it is. Really seems kinda odd to me. Should be at San Jose State by fall! So you have to stay there at least 3 more years ok?
        • We are planning to be here until at least 8/2008, so I don't think it will be a problem!
