Journal for 2004-12-17 Fri.
Weather: Sunny Plan: Kijima Ele.

I went to Kijima Elementary School with Signe today. Signe only goes to Kijima Ele. about 1 or 2 times a year, so all the kids were very happy. We sung Christmas songs and played games with the 1st and 2nd graders. We studied parts of the body with the 3rd graders. We taught the 4th graders their birth-months. The 4th graders really like English, so their pronunciation is really great. We reviewed fruits and vegetables and played "fruit basket" with the 5th graders. With the 6th graders, we drew some greetings cards. After school, Ms. Kawashima and I recorded our next English CATV show. This weekend Signe bought a new camera. It's called the CANNON PowerShot S70!

  • Yay for Christmas! Merry Christmas to both of you!! That camera sure looks cool. My parents have a cannon powersot (6 megapixel) and it is really fun to play with. Call me old fastioned tho....I still like my old school Minolta X-700. Of course my little toshibe 5 MP is really convinent!! Its a balance you know...Now back to my garage kit.
    • Yeah, signe did a LOT of research on the net before deciding on this camera. She is a big fan of the 35mm too, but these days digital has come so far, we think we can get at least 8x10 prints to look good if we wanted them to.
  • I appreciate all of your persistent posting. The Kanji reference is rather useful, and it's good to have fresh streams of text to (attempt to) read, as opposed to rereading the same paragraphs in my text book which are few and borderline memorized at this point.
    • Thanks for the kind words! I am glad you like it. I really like posting my diary. I'm afriad that my Japanese isn't that great, but I try to get the point across. Good luck with your studies!
