Journal for 2005-6-2 Thu..
Weather: Cloudy Plan: Akagi JHS

Nothing really bad happened today. I spent most of the day programming my Lyrics Worksheet. I am writing it in Javascript and Perl. I know Perl, so that part in simple, but I haven't done any Javascript before, so there are a lot of things I just don't know about that is making me very frustrated. Moreover, I am finding it hard to find good Javascript help site on the Internet (as opposed to Perl, where there was a wealth of consistant information when I was learning). Grr! >*<

  • Thats odd that there are no good javascript sites, since it is supposed to be 'the code of the web' or something like that. Isn't it? Because it is made to be cross platform and all...Still, writing something like that is way beyond my little VB level. Java could be fun...I was thinking of adding it to my huge list of things to learn. Keep working at it Trev!
    • Yeah. There is a lot of CRAPPY Javascript sites. The problem with Javascript is that there are very few people that get into it beyond extremely simple scripting, even though it is much more powerful than that.

Oh, and Java and Javascript are completely different languages. Java is an OOP made by Sun, and Javascript is a (very poorly named) scripting language that has it's origins with Netscape, although it is always evolving and being added to (another reason there aren't any definitive sites for JS coding)
