Weather: Sunny Plan: Akagi JHS

This morning Jane Doe, a 7th grader, gave me some habanero peppers that her father grew. Last year Jane's dad wanted to buy these habanero seeds, but he couldn't read the English on the websites to order them, so I ordered them for him and gave them to him. Anyway, I showed them to the teachers and students today and gave them a little to try. You know, these habanero peppers, the Red Savina, are the hottest spice in the world, so watching their reactions as they tried the peppers was priceless.

  • That's pretty evil ;P
    • Me: Here have one.
      Girl1: Eh? What's this?
Girl2: It looks like a green pepper.
      Me: Try it.
(Girl1 takes one and tries it)
      Girl1: AHHHH!
      (Girl comes in)
      Girl3: Huh? What's up?
      Girl2: Try one of those.
(Girl 3 takes one, puts it in her mouth, instantly falls to the ground and squeals in surprise, then runs to the water fountain)

      Comedy Gold.
  • There's a potato chip snack in Japan that has a name similar to Habanero. It's got an evil looking pepper on the bag. Not sure if they use those peppers but they claim to be extremely spicey. I tried it once and didn't find that all too spicy.
    • Those chips are tasty, but the spice in them doesn't hold a candle to even the tiniest piece of a Red Savina Habanero. These peppers are amazingly hot. It is hard to describe the heat coming from them. My fingertips still tingle and I haven't touched one in days!
